SHADES OF GREEN

I am joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday. This tablescape is from a garden tour, and I just love the lime green bench and chair.
I really like the chippy old table and the centerpiece made from just greenery. I think an all greenery arrangement in the summertime is so cool and refreshing looking.
I love this urn nestled among the greenery too. This bamboo cutlery is becoming very popular. I think it is perfect for summer tablescapes. The trays are great too, just pick up the whole thing and take back inside when the meal is over.
I think I will go pick some greenery and make an arrangement to enjoy  this hot summer day. I am joining Debbie at http://www.debbie-debbiedoos.com  for her Newbies/Graduates party.

APRIL SHOWERS

This was my front door decoration for April-you know April Showers and all that....This is not an origional idea-I borrowed it from Susie Harris's blog, which is fabulous by the way. Go visit at http://www.sussieharrisblog.com  Well today is May 2nd, now I need to think up a new door arrangement. However it is raining here, so maybe I will wait until tommorow.Oh yeah I got the umbrella at Hobby Lobby and I already had all of the yellow flowers, but I picked up the hot pink ones at Dollar General. Joining http://www.mamahenscoop.com  for whatever Wednesday.

SWEET PEAS AND ROSES

An old fashioned vase filled with fresh roses and sweet peas from my garden. The vase is egg shaped so I thought it would be fine for Easter.

REDO FOR AN URN

My azaleas are so pretty, just had to pick a few for the indoors-especially since it has been raining for the last several days. This is the new look for this urn I picked up for a dollar at the flea market.
It started out kinda rough looking, but I liked the basic shape of it and knew that a coat of paint would renew it.
I just used regular whie craft paint and when that was dry rubbed on some brown and quickly rubbed it of.I am loving the simplicity of the white. I can imagine it this summer with a big armful of green grasses in it.

GARDEN IDEAS

I attended the big garden show in our area this weekend. Love these urns, but they are a little large for my garden.
A little touch of country for some who like that look.Nice gazebo.
These big jars would look wonderful tucked in the garden. Of course mine would have to be cemented in-because the first time one of my dogs chased a squirrel thru the garden.....This is too cute-I may have to do one of these for the corner of my porch.

AN OLD FASHIONED VASE OF FRESH FLOWERS

I picked a bouquet of flowers from my garden before all the rain today could beat them into the ground. My house smells wonderful! There is nothing that smells better than hyacinths in the spring, after a long winter. Not that we have had much winter here, but still. This is a very old vase, but I like it  for displaying different flowers.
These are the old fashioned hyacinths that smell sooo good. I wonder if you can still buy these bulbs or if they are a pass along plant now. I have divided mine all over the garden, in case they decided not to like the spot I had them in. I have also shared with friends. I certainly would not want to lose this bulb!
The rose colored hyacinths are not old, but they sure are pretty.I am joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday at http://www.astrollthrulife.blogspot.com I am sure there will be lots of beautiful Valentines tables, but I have never decorated too much for that holiday.

JUST CALL ME HUGH

Do you have days when you don't want to get out of your p.j.'s. I love pajama days  but I have so much to do ,especially a trip to the library so I won't have to pay fines on a stack of books. But here it is eleven o'clock and I  have no motivation!Maybe Hugh Hefner has something about living in your pajamas!HAAAA!I have been picking up around the house though, so the day hasn't been a total waste.
I even took a photo of my tulips to cheer me up.Isn't nature fascinating? O.K. I know I need to stop goofing of and get busy! Catch you guys later.

THE MAD FLORAL ARRANGER

Since we have had such a nice long fall with cooler nights my flowers have gotten their second wind and have been beautiful. I know those long cold winter days are coming, so I want to enjoy as many of my flowers as I can. I have been making flower arrangements like a mad woman. My house smells good though!
I love the oak leaves and acorns on this pot. It is perfect for a fall arrangement.
A simple silver cup with roses just stuffed in. These roses smell amazing. I hope you still have flowers blooming at your house. I am joining Kim for Wow Us Wednesday at http://www.savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com

GARDEN SHOTS

I thought I would share a few random shots from my garden today. We have been getting wonderfull rains and cooler temps, so things are looking better.Look closely at the top photo-see the fly? He was soon to be lunch for the little fellow in the bottom photo.
Love the blooms on this hibiscus. They are usually about the size of a large salad plate, but were smaller this year-probably due to the extreme drought and high temps we had earlier. I am joining http://www.fishtailcottage.blogspot.com for Cottage Flora Thursday. Also http://www.tootsietime.blogspot.com  for Fertilizer Friday.

TRYING TO SAVE A GARDEN

I have been watering the garden all morning. We are in a drought here in my part of the world-I thought I would share some photos of what I am trying to save in my garden.

Record breaking heat is taking its toll. But, that's the way it is with a garden. It changes every year with things you lose or things you add. I am joining Cottage Flora Thursdays at http://www.fishtailcottage.blogspot.com
