Let's see...the shadows would be on the other side of the fence late in the afternoon, right? :-)

IF I HAD A SHADOW

If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;

My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

Perfect shadows of the fenceline! I need to try getting out early or late for my shadow this week. Too hot for midday!

A neat concept. Do you remember trying to step on your shadow as a child or run and watch it follow? Peace

Hi Vickie, it's always nice to know another master gardener. I'm wondering how your summer has been. ours has been a not-so-good growing season here - frosty temps well into May and then hot hot hot in July and now no rain in August. the tomatoes have NOT been doing well! thanks for visiting my blog, I truly appreciate it. and thanks for sharing your lovely morning shadow shot. happy SSS to you!

That sleeping dog in your header is so cute!

Thanks for sharing your blues. I'm sorry that it took so long for me to comment, but I'm home now!

Happy Blue Monday.
