JUNKIN IN LOUISIANA

Just got back from Louisiana-and may I say it is my favorite place in the world, besides home. I am so happy when I cross the state line ! This time I went to Ponchatula, Hammond, Tickfaw,Amite, Kentwood ,Roseland and Independance. Today I am sharing photos from Ponchatula-The Antique City. The whole town is full of antigue shops-lord I don't know how many. It is also the Strawberry Capitol of the World. This is one of the shops I visited-15,000 square feet people! I was in there for hours! I will share photos later of what I bought, I am too tired to take more photos!
Just look at all this stuff!Wow, I love this tryke. It is also the hangout for a bunch of men drinking coffee-and they even have a store dog-isn't he cute?He greets everyone and wants a hug! I am joining http://www.decortoadore.blogspot.com  for Wayfaring Wednesday.and Marty at http://www.astrollthrulife.blogspot.com , because there were certainly tabletops filled in this place. Also http://www.savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com  for Wow Us Wednesday.

You were thirty minutes from MY HOUSE! :) That is my FAVORITE shop in Ponchatoula, hands-down. You can easily spend hours in there.
Glad you had a good time--can't wait to see what you bought!

I really enjoy going to places like that, especially when I luck out with a great find.

I am so jealous! It has been forever since I have been to Louisiana, especially to go junkin. What a neat place, to have their very own dog, and all the men gather to drink coffee, my kind of places :)

I think we might go to Louisiana around my B'day in October. Will have to check out some of the spots you post about.

Now that is what I call FUN. I love places like that and the search for a perfect find is always a thrill. I got some glass ware at such a store last week for Prince. They were the perfect size for his morning oj. Peace

Love it! Another great little town is outside of DeRidder and it is Leesville. Remember, I was orginally from LA before coming to MS. Hope you found some really great buys.

Love the area you were treasure hunting in! We are in central Louisiana and love a weekend trip down to what I call the "mecca." I've always found the most unique and fun goodies in that neck of the woods, especially in Denham Springs & Ponchatula. Having that much fun in our summer temps is exhausting but worth it! Looking forward to seeing your treasures.

Hubby and I LOVE junkin and LOVE Ponchatoula! We used to stop there when we lived in Rankin County MS and had to go to Metairie LA for stained glass supplies. A long trip, but gave us the chance to browse Ponchatoula. Double the fun when strawberries were in season.
