Just got back from Louisiana-and may I say it is my favorite place in the world, besides home. I am so happy when I cross the state line ! This time I went to Ponchatula, Hammond, Tickfaw,Amite, Kentwood ,Roseland and Independance. Today I am sharing photos from Ponchatula-The Antique City. The whole town is full of antigue shops-lord I don't know how many. It is also the Strawberry Capitol of the World. This is one of the shops I visited-15,000 square feet people! I was in there for hours! I will share photos later of what I bought, I am too tired to take more photos!
Just look at all this stuff!Wow, I love this tryke. It is also the hangout for a bunch of men drinking coffee-and they even have a store dog-isn't he cute?He greets everyone and wants a hug! I am joining http://www.decortoadore.blogspot.com for Wayfaring Wednesday.and Marty at http://www.astrollthrulife.blogspot.com , because there were certainly tabletops filled in this place. Also http://www.savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com for Wow Us Wednesday.

You were thirty minutes from MY HOUSE! :) That is my FAVORITE shop in Ponchatoula, hands-down. You can easily spend hours in there.
Glad you had a good time--can't wait to see what you bought!
Looks like a good place to dive into for a treasure!
I really enjoy going to places like that, especially when I luck out with a great find.

I am so jealous! It has been forever since I have been to Louisiana, especially to go junkin. What a neat place, to have their very own dog, and all the men gather to drink coffee, my kind of places :)
Oh boy oh boy....would I have ever LOVED to be with you in LA, hunting for all these treasures!! Mmmmm. Spells fun!!! And your morning shadow shot is nice.

Hope your week is off to a grand beginning!!
I think we might go to Louisiana around my B'day in October. Will have to check out some of the spots you post about.
Every store should have a resident cat or dog. Cute dog!!
Now that is what I call FUN. I love places like that and the search for a perfect find is always a thrill. I got some glass ware at such a store last week for Prince. They were the perfect size for his morning oj. Peace
oooh Id love to dig through there!
I have been to some of those shops and tons but it was 25 years ago. Sure would like to go back. I love the beagle is one shot, reminds me of my shop with Ms. Sissy Dog in it. Come by anytime for a visit. Rest up. Richard from My Old Historic House.,
Love it! Another great little town is outside of DeRidder and it is Leesville. Remember, I was orginally from LA before coming to MS. Hope you found some really great buys.
Wow! I would love to go there. How far is it from Natchez?...Christine
Love the area you were treasure hunting in! We are in central Louisiana and love a weekend trip down to what I call the "mecca." I've always found the most unique and fun goodies in that neck of the woods, especially in Denham Springs & Ponchatula. Having that much fun in our summer temps is exhausting but worth it! Looking forward to seeing your treasures.
I love junking!!!! Depression glass is my all time fave and I love the glass on that first picture. Come visit me sometime at http://humnowwhat.blogspot.com
I look forward to seeing more pictures and I know you had to have bought something...
The towns all have such interesting names. Kinda oflike a look into the past...

Home to Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party!
Oh now this is my type of fun! Did you see the "Little House on the Prairie" in Independence?
Thank you so much for linking up on Wayfaring Wednesday!
Hubby and I LOVE junkin and LOVE Ponchatoula! We used to stop there when we lived in Rankin County MS and had to go to Metairie LA for stained glass supplies. A long trip, but gave us the chance to browse Ponchatoula. Double the fun when strawberries were in season.
