Mississippi Museum of Art Garden

I recently visited our Mississippi Museum of Art for the Old Masters Exhibit. It was the first time I had seen the garden addition. I like the fact that it has a water feature-as all gardens should-I think. They also used lots of native plants and grasses-tough plants for our hot tough Mississippi summers!
Ornamental grass swaying in the breeze.
Love all of these grasses mixed together.
The garden is on several different levels and there are surprises around the corners.
A
single crepe myrtle highlighted by itself. This way you notice the beautiful bark.
A sweeping view of the gardens as you enter from the South end of Lamar Street. If you find yourself in Jackson, Ms. visit our museum and have lunch at the Palette Cafe. And while you are downtown visit the Governor's Mansion and  St. Andrews Cathedral-both beautiful buildings.
