OLD EGG NOG BOWL

This depression era egg nog bowl is one of my favorite Christmas items. I always put some of my old shiny bright ornaments in it. It is not very large as most egg nog bowls are. I have never seen another one like it. Of course I have never used it for eggnog-we don't do egg nog, unless its mixed with ice cream. I did egg nog mixed with ice cream-almost like a thick milkshake, for a garden club party one Christmas-boy did they scarf it down. Good thing I don't put liquor in mine, those ladies might have gotten rowdy!
I used a gold mesh runner and some of my mercury glass trees around it.
Close up of some of my old shiny brights. I love the bell shaped one.I am joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday at http://www.astrollthrulife.blogspot.com

Good morning, way down there!! Hope you're staying well and warm.

This is just the most charming vignette, hugging in the bright and the color and the shapes and tastes of Christmas---just lovely.

All your sweet items bring many memories, and now I'm REALLY wanting to see some Bubble Lights!

Very pretty. I'm not familiar with mercury glass. I'm gonna have to look it up.

Love the Shiny Brights. That is a delightful bowl. I have never seen one but now you have increased my knowledge. I had to lol about possible rowdy ladies!!!!! Let me know the correct measurements as this would be a wonderful thing to have at Christmas parties. Peace

I do the egg nog like with ice cream, but we call it MILK PUNCH, and I do not use eggs and I do add some stuff, to snocker you on a cold Christmas morning. Love your bowl. Richard from My Old Historic House.
