THE LIBRARY AT COTESWORTH

Todays shadow shot is of the freestanding library on the grounds of Cotesworth in Carrollton, Ms. The library was built in1887. The building has six sides and the floorboards inside run from the six sides and meet in the center.The tall bookshelves all radiate toward the center of the building and are filled with Congressional records from the sixteen years J.Z.George spent in the United States Senate as well as classic novels and law books. The desk still has items and papers used by the Senator.Senator George was the primary author of the 1890 Mississippi Constitution.

amazing craftsmanship on that floor, love the angle of the bookshelves and the fact they house such wonderful history...can almost smell that lovely old book smell in your photos.

What a unique library. I dearly love going to them. Ours is certainly nice, but not as neat as this.

I like your "travelog" shadows. Still haven't seen "The Help" but certainly enjoyed the book.

I would love to visit this library. Thanks for sharing this interesting site and the foot note of "The Help". I have the book to read and prefer to read a book first before I see the movie. Peace
