JUST FOR THE GRANDS

Every year I put out less and less Halloween. My grandsons are getting older and since they were the ones that enjoyed it, I always tried to have lots of stuff. This year I just focused on the mantel. After this year it will all get packed up and probably taken to a resale shop. But I will always remember how the grands little eyes lit up when they saw all the "spooks". Time marchs on and FAST-so you better enjoy  it while you can. I am joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday at http://www.astrollthrulife.blogspot.com  and Kim for Wow Us Wednesday at http://www.savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com and http://www.bunnyjeansdecorandmore.blogspot.com  for her fall party.

Good Morning!
I decorate more for Fall now since the kids are 16 and 18! Although the week before Halloween I add a few Halloween items for the little ones that trick or treat in the neighborhood. Cute mantel! Have a great day!

I love your decorations - especially the skulls and ravens. I just have a few creepy items I put out to which I added some new strings of lights this year. (pumpkins and plain orange) I already have flashing skeleton lights in the window.

That is so fun! I see that you are a skull lover too, they make great Halloween decor don't they? It all looks great, I know the grands love it.

I am glad when grandmothers go to so much trouble to please the little ones. Please continue this as it will make memories that will last a life time. Richard from My Old Historic House.

Oh I do know what you mean. My grandsons are all grown and even my great grandson is getting too old for some of this at 7. Love the mantel and your decor is wonderful. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

Good idea focusing on the mantle--sometimes decorating can get overwhelming! You get a great job:)

OH, I like that BIG Buzzard! I have two that I will be showing soon...they are nesting ;)

I know what you mean about decorating for the kids. But now that I am blogging it allows me to join in the fun :) My grands will never even be here at Halloween.

About taking it to the thrift store... maybe the kids would like to have the decorations? I know that mine do because of the memories. But then we all seem to have the hoarder gene lol!

Thanks for coming to the party this week!

This is too funny - I just read Bunny's comment about saving the items for your grands instead of taking to the thrift store. I thought the same thing reading your post! I know I've been trying to break my MIL of giving stuff away or selling at a yard sale things that were "Grandma's" and such! Love your mantle!
