TRAVELING

I took a road trip yesterday to visit a friend in the Delta. These are a few photos I took on the way.
These are in Canton, they have some beautiful old homes. John Grisham's A Time To Kill was filmed here, as well as My Dog Skip based on the Willie Morris book.
I hope you enjoyed going on this road trip. I will share more later.

THE CAPTAIN RAY HOUSE

This is the Captain Ray House that was on the Carrollton tour. This home was built in the 1800's and was featured in the film The Reivers, starring Steve McQueen.
Look what the present owner found in the attic. She took them to the state college and had them dated to the 1800's. They are in remarkable shape.People must have been a lot smaller then, this jacket is tiny. The shoes are all worn down in the same place on all of them, proving they were all worn by the same owner.
She also found the old porch post in the attic. I think it is such a clever way to display them.Lovely flower arrangement made by the local garden club. I love arrangements like these made with lots of greenery gathered from the garden.Lovely display in the dining room, with old family photographs and a collection of blue and white on the wall. The lady that owns this home also has a cute little cafe in town that I will share with you later-it has a catchy name too! Joining http://www.heyharriet.blogspot.com for Shadow Shot Sunday.
