WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING

After spending Christmas with this little cutie(my great-grandson and yes I know I am too young to have one!) LOL!, I have been holed up in the house doing this...
It has been dreary and cold here,so I am catching up on the stack of books I have been putting off reading. If you have never read a Dorothea Benton Frank book-you should definetly try them. I have read all of her books about a jillion times! She is so funny and describes the low country of South Carolina in luscious detail. My favorite is Return to Sullivans Island. And Patty Roper-a fellow Mississippian has done another wonderful book with wonderful recipes and tablescapes. Paula Deens new book is just beautiful too! If you ask me the only good thing about winter is a blanket and a good book and a couple of dogs to snuggle up too!

I'll agree with your sentiments about winter! Well, I do enjoy having a fire in the fireplace.

Sounds like you are making the most of the cold weather, Vicki. I will probably do that too if I were home but I am enjoying the weather in FL, mostly sunny and in the 70's. Thanks so much for your nice comment about my granddaughter She is really so perfect and precious. I can't believe you are a great grandma and he is such a cutie!..I hope you all have a Happy New Year!...Christine

What a cutie! Bet he keeps g-g hopping! A good book and blankie sound wonderful during the winter to me, too. I'm sorry you've been having trouble joining/following my blog. It seems whenever Google/Blogger tries to improve something that WAS working, it just get messed up! Keep trying and thanks so much!
Blessings,
Joy

What better to do than enjoy your great grand! Children are so precious, innocent, and trusting! Snuggling up with a good book on a cold dreary winter day is a good way to spend time, too!
Happy New Year!

Vickie,
I have to tell you about Dottie Frank. Leo used to interview her on the radio whenever one of her new books came out. We even went to her house on Sullivan's Island for book release parties. She is a real character, just like some of them in her books. She even mentioned Leo in one of her earlier books. And Paula Dean used to advertise on the radio when she had just started her restaurant The Lady and Sons. I can remember her talking to Leo while doing live commercials. Maybe I (or Leo) should post about these things.
