PETS

I don't know if I told you that my Dad is in a nursing home now. He stayed at home with a sitter until it was physically impossible. This is a wonderful place and  this is one of the pets that is allowed to roam around-I think this is wonderful, I know I would miss my animals if I was away from my home.
They also have fish tanks and of course lots of bird feeders outside the windows. I know not all nursing homes are this nice-wish they were. I think  my Dad is happy here though he is getting more confused. I think it helps that his sitter from home still goes and stays with him for a while each day and family drops in every day.I am three hours away and working different hours every day so I don't get to go too often, but I don't worry that he is ok now.

Maybe there is hope yet, if I ever have to go to a home, maybe I can take Ms. Sissy Dog. I love the pets and I am sure the residents do too. Richard from My Old Historic House.

So nice that he's in a place with animals! I truly do think they ease the situation for many.

It's wonderful to find a home that would allow pets too. Thanks for your advice on our floor, Vicky. I took your idea and we decided to go ahead and replace the rug in the office too....Christine

That sounds like a really nice nursing home!!! It's wonderful that we have these places to care for our loved ones when we can no longer do it at home.

I think that is a wonderful place to let the four legged friends roam for the folks to enjoy. I know when my Dad was in the nursing home, it was nice my brother lived 5 mins away and stopped by daily and sometimes twice to check on him. It was a nice place and like you said we knew he was safe. Peace

It's wonderful that they let pets roam the halls for the residents to enjoy. I hope when I go to the nursing home there will be pets to enjoy.
