A TRIP BACK IN TIME

How about a trip back in time? On the recent Pilgrimage tour I took, one of the stops was this general store. It is on the Main street and it looks as if they just walked out and will be right back.

Checkers, anyone?

Lot's of merchandise still on the shelves.Look at that ladder used to reach the top!
As a gardener I was fascinated by this old seed display.Judging by the size of the store and the merchandise this must have been the center of the community when it was open.

Thanks for posting this! Love the picture of the pot-bellied stove and the checker board. The pictures reminded me of the old store from my childhood.

When I was a teen we lived in a small town in Michigan and it had a general store. Not exactly like the one you've visited but the same idea. They sold a little of everything. It's gone now and has been turned into a restaurant. Oh, the good old days!
Love your new banner!

There is just something about those old general stores that fascinate me. I love touring historical buildings and towns. Thanks for taking me along!

The store is fun, I found one the other day in South Missouri that is still up and running. Looks simular. Has a stove and all. The back is a new addition where they sell hunting things, I didn't go back there?! Richard from My Old Historic House.

I remember stores like this as a tiny girl. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. We used glue dots and Gorilla tape...all removable! Cherry Kay

I've never tried to make sweet tater fries. I love the Huddle House sweet tater fries! If I could make Them as good as theirs I would be in some fat trouble! Lol! I love the pictures...times were so much better when stores looked like that vs. the zippy markets we have on every corner now. Lost times!

Loved your "back in time" photos. I also love the turkey platter. I have one similar that has been with me since our first year of marriage.
It was a give-away at the local gas station!
