ONCE IT WAS A FARM

I SPENT THE WEEKEND NEAR OXFORD TAKING CARE OF MY FATHER WHO IS NOW UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. HE HAS SITTERS, BUT THEY NEED A BREAK. HE USED TO HAVE A NICE FARM THAT HE LOVED, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE FOUR YEARS OF BEING UNTOUCHED HAS LEFT IT PRETTY SAD.
THESE ARE TWO PAINTINGS THAT I DID FOR HIM SEVERAL YEARS AGO. HIS BELOVED DOG BUDDY IS STILL FAITHFUL,EVEN THOUGH HE FORGETS HIM AND HOLLERS AT HIM AT TIMES.
THERE USED TO BE LOTS OF DIFFERENT COWS, BUT THEY ARE ALL GONE NOW.
THE SUNSETS ARE STILL BEAUTIFUL AND LIFE DOES GO ON WITH OR WITHOUT US.

That has to be a sad time for you but I know your dad appreciates your coming by. You really painted some beautiful pictures for him.

Your art is really wonderful. Aging parents can be hard and bittersweet. We are glad they are still with us at the same time its hard to watch them lose so much of there independence. Prayers for you and your father.

I know this must be hard; I see change when I go back home to visit and it is difficult. Thanks for stopping by and visiting, hope you get your to-do list knocked out too. I got the china cabinet cleaned inside and out and behind today. WOOHOO!

How nice of you to take care of your dad, Vicky. So sad to think that our parents are on that stage when they can no longer tend to themselves like they used to. Your paintings are beautiful...Christine
