I THOUGHT I WOULD SHOW YOU A DIFFERENT TABLETOP TODAY. MY TABLES ARE NOT ALWAYS PRETTY OR PERFECT! IN FACT MOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE NOT-JUST TELLING YOU LIKE IT IS.I STOPPED TRYING FOR PERFECT A LONG TIME AGO AND JUST LET LIFE HAPPEN. THIS IS IN MY DEN-KITCHEN AREA. THIS MONKEY LAMP IS MY FAVORITE, BOUGHT AT KIRKLANDS YEARS AGO.THIS CORNER-NEXT TO THE SOFA IS MY FAVORITE SPOT IN MY HOUSE-IT IS WHERE I IMMEDIATELY GO TO WHEN I NEED COMFORT AND A HOUSE HUG. YOU KNOW WHEN IT FEELS LIKE MY LIFE IS GETTING THE BEST OF ME, I WANT TO RETREAT TO THIS CORNER AND HAVE PERFECT SILENCE EXCEPT FOR THE TIC TOC OF THE CLOCK ON THE WALL-IT FEELS LIKE MY HOUSE IS GIVING ME A BIG HUG.
AS YOU KNOW I LOVE COOKBOOKS-HAVE SEVERAL HUNDRED.THIS IS NEXT TO THE TABLE AND MY COOKIE CUTTER COLLECTION IS IN JARS ON TOP. NOW THIS IS NOT NEAT, BUT THEY ARE WHERE I CAN GET TO THEM EASILY. OF COURSE I HAVE ANOTHER BOOKCASE NEXT TO THE RANGE AND AN OVERHEAD SHELF IN THE KITCHEN.

I love that your keeping it real. None of us living on the cover of a magazine. Our homes are sometimes messy, cluttered and occasionally dirty. But that is real life and while it is okay to tidy up and fluff the pillows before picture time, perfection is an unrealistic goal. We are better off living a full and happy life. Great post.

I have a ton of cookbooks, too. I love to read them and of course cook from them once in awhile! I like the way you have everything arranged...I like things at my fingertips, where I can see them and as long as I clean up before company comes over, I am happy!
