Great shadows from the cupola in the library at Cotesworth Plantation.Lot's of late afternoon shadows outside the library too.If you remember I posted about Cotesworth as one of the homes in the movie The Help.Wouldn't it be lovely to have your own library on the grounds of your property-I am afraid I would move a bed in in the winter and stay there by the fire reading until it turned warm again! I am joining http://www.heyharriet.blogspot.com for Shadow Shot Sunday.
Such a pretty little house!!! Neat to have a separate building for it. Looking up at the cupola, reminds me of Old Waverly near West Point/Columbus, MS.
ReplyDeleteI love to look up, up, up and discover shadows!
ReplyDeleteIF I WERE A SHADOW
If I were a shadow,
I would seek the light;
There I would glow sleekly,
Black and shiny bright!

mmmmmm my own library and such a beautiful one as well - definately I'm with you there. Amazing shots - so different to each other.
ReplyDeleteNeat little library. Sounds like you have a good plan when you get yours. Peace
ReplyDeleteI am in love with anything Plantation. I know it was not the best of times for the slaves, but the whole, self contained life style has me in Ahl. I think this little darling building is just divine. I have a library room, but could only dream to have a whole library building, especially if it looked like this. Thanks for the tour. I love seeing these things always. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little library. Your pictures with the shadows are great. I haven't seen the movie help, but I have read the book and listened to it on tape. As soon as it comes out on DVD I am going to see it.

Wonderful shadows, both inside and out.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That's lovely and I wish I had my own little library like that one. I'll just have to make do with my rickety old bookcase in the living room :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your wonderful contributions to SSS over the years! Great news is that a little team has formed to continue on with SSS. Woohoo! I'll be posting the details on my blog next Sunday :)
So pretty! I love shadow shots. FUnny thing is I never noticed them until I started to blog. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteHow very lovely---sleek and elegant. And of course, knowing the light and shadow are playing down on BOOKS---that only adds to the charm. Libraries are just magical, and I've counted up my "cards" just now---I've had fourteen (counting only one for HERE, with all the branches there for the enjoying).
ReplyDeleteI love your eye for atmosphere and shadings.
Stay well and warm this most wonderful of Seasons!

I basically stayed in bed and read all weekend. Our horseshow was cancelled and I was kinda glad cause even though they said the temps would be better it was still too cold for me outside.
