I have been watering the garden all morning. We are in a drought here in my part of the world-I thought I would share some photos of what I am trying to save in my garden.
Record breaking heat is taking its toll. But, that's the way it is with a garden. It changes every year with things you lose or things you add. I am joining Cottage Flora Thursdays at http://www.fishtailcottage.blogspot.com
I think all of us in the south are in saving the garden mode, the plants sure aren't thriving. It looks like you are doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteWe are really dry here too. I have some serious work to do on the front yard and I am trying to decide if I will wait until fall or do it now..I REALLY want to do it now so that I have something to look at when I come home, but we are so busy and I hate to see it wither away. All of the nurseries have their trees half off right now so it is REALLY tempting. Your garden is beautiful...I am lovin' that pond!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your garden is staying beautiful!... we have had too much rain in our area... weird weather everywhere this year!... your pond is so pretty!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I hope your drought breaks soon, but with a nice gentle rain not a torrential downpour like here...I need to take the camera out and take pix of the damage...
ReplyDeleteStay cool
Kelsie
I totally understand! The weather stinks here in Mississippi. I don't think I'll ever complain about it being too wet again.
ReplyDeleteI luv your yard. Our's changes too. Lost several things over the winter and am determined to only use my volunteer shrubs to replace them.
I hope you save your beautiful garden from the extreme heat.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a great weekend :-)
We had a drought last year, and I was MUCH too distracted by life to water! Thank goodness you're taking care of yours! You'll be so glad! It all looks healthy and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely. This heat has been so intense we all worry what we will have in another month. I am your new follower too, hope you stop by and follow also. Have a nice day.

You Southerners certainly master loving the garden. GREAT job.

It does not look in trouble, Vicky. It's gorgeous. I LOVE the pond!..Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I hope you can keep it healthy with your drought going on. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI hope you save all those beautiful flowers and shrubs. My SIL said her lawn in Jackson was as brown as could be and the ground like concrete. Peace
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so great! I am sorry you are in such dry conditions - wish we could share our water wit hyou - we have flood warnings everywhere. Your pond is beautiful ! Good luck with this! Paula from Idaho

I am feeling your pain neighbor. We have only starting getting afternoon showers but with the days around 100, makes it tough.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks lovely. It seems that I'm having less bloom this year. Oh well there is always next year.
I love your blog, good luck
Kathy
