BIG BIRDS SHADOW

We have a big heron that overwinters in the creek across the street. He visited my pond and I was scared he would eat my fish. Someone told me that they would not visit a pond occupied by another bird, it must be true because he never came back after I put this metal bird out. I am joining in Shadow Shot Sunday at hey harriet.blogspot.com

  1. That's a great shot! I hope he stays away and doesn't eat your fish!

  3. I love the shadow your bird cast! Hmmm...I wonder if that's really true. We have a large pond that we stocked with fish and I hate seeing the herons and egrets there. I've seen several, but maybe it's big enough to accomodate more than one bird.

  4. Good Morning Sweetie...
Now how cute is that? I love this bird, and now your pond is safe as he won't come back. He thinks someone else has moved in. I love it. There is always more than one way to skin a heron hu?

Oh I love this post. Thank you for the wonderful smile this morning. So precious. Have a glorious Sunday sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  5. We have this metal bird that has been here since I arrived in this family and I put a bird bath close to it so I guess that is why the birds seem not to use it. I will move it to a better spot since the bird was here first. Thanks and Peace

  6. How interesting! I love watching birds, especially big ones like herons, but I wouldn't want one in my yard.

    Have a nice week!

  9. Wonderful shadow shot. I have two heron statues near my pond. But one of them has been attacked by a fox. They must look very real looking.
